Description
Map of the distribution of near-surface carbonate deposits (colds, doloomites and marbles), which are usually mined in open-cast mining, but also in Saxony. In Saxony, for example, the Dolomite and Kalzitmarmore in Hermsdorf and Lengefeld were won in civil engineering until a few years ago. Currently – as of 2016 – underground marble extraction is concentrated on the mining at Hammerunterwiesenthal. an overnight extraction at the same location is in preparation for attribute values allow an outline according to the degree of exploration into suspected, concluded and explored.
