Vitality decrease and calamity card Nadelwald NRW
Description
This dataset shows the softwood areas detected by satellite data analysis, where a very strong decrease in vitality has been observed since 2018 and which can therefore be considered as calamity areas with a very high probability. Furthermore, the data summarized contain the time sections of this decrease in vitality in the coniferous forest ("Schad_agg"). These are displayed in the Waldinfo.NRW application under the map level "Kalamitätskarte". The following should be taken into account in this summary: If different damage levels (e.g. level 2 = clearly visible damage and level 3 = dead or cleared) have been classified for an area at different times in the maps of the vitality decrease in coniferous wood, the aggregation result for the calamity map is the damage level = 3. An area was only included in the calamity map if it was at least 0.1 ha in size and classified with one or both of the above-mentioned damage levels. The date of the last evaluation is September 2022, so all calamity areas that occurred after that date have not yet been taken into account.
