At 9 — Plant of Field Bird Islands (Kiebitzinseln)
Description
The Kiebitz likes to breed in low vegetation on temporarily wetted soils. Field bird islands not only serve as breeding grounds for the Kiebitz and other species of field birds, but are also an important food and cover habitat for its young birds.
The basis for the funding is provided by meadow liikolene-populated areas in Lower Saxony, which are subject to agricultural use. Land use data were used on the basis of data from ATKIS (2017) and on the basis of agricultural field blocks (as of 2021).
The data base present current breeding occurrences of meadow limicoles from the results of the meadow bird monitoring (2014-2021), the nationwide Kiebitz and Uferschnepfen collection 2020, the SPA monitoring as well as other available data, such as the breeding and chick protection projects.
