Observatory of Areas of Economic Activities of Guyana (12/2014)
Description
The AUDeG initiated in 2013 the creation of an Observatory of Economic Activity Areas. The aim of the scheme is to provide economic and institutional partners with the necessary background elements for relevant and informed decision-making when examining economic establishment plans and awarding aids and grants. In the long run, the purpose of this observatory is to:
— draw up a detailed overview of the areas of existing and planned activities,
— make it a precise and detailed description of the geographical, regulatory, administrative, economic and fiscal aspects,
— assess their attractiveness, diagnose their strengths and weaknesses and propose any measures to improve their management and filling,
— carry out a prospective study of the possibilities for the creation of unidentified EEZs and their feasibility conditions.
In 2013 and 2014, the AUDeG carried out the exploitation and analysis of the data set up in 2012 in partnership with the Regional Council as part of the database of businesses and economic activity areas. To date, the data made available are structured around 4 classes:
— Economic Activity Areas,
— Enterprises located in areas of economic activity,
— State of land availability located in areas of economic activity,
— Buildings located in areas of economic activity.
