INSPIRE WMS Service Natural Monuments Tyrol

Description

Under the Tyrolean Nature Conservation Act 2005 (TNSchG 2005), the district administrative authority may, by decision, declare natural monuments to be natural monuments whose conservation is in the public interest because of their rarity, peculiarity or beauty, because of their scientific, historical or cultural significance or because of the special character they confer on the landscape. Natural formations in this sense are, for example, old or rare trees, groups of trees or woods, special plant deposits, springs, watercourses, waterfalls, pools, lakes, moors, rock formations, glacial traces, mineral or fossil deposits, earth-historical outcrops and characteristic soil forms, gorges and gorges. In contrast to the protection of landscape or nature reserves, which include and connect larger areas as area protection, natural monuments are usually protection of individual phenomena in the landscape. The natural monuments are assigned to the INSPIRE data topic Protected Areas (Annex I).
