Gravimetric overview map Saxony 1 : 400 000
Description
The gravimetric map provides important information about the structure of the deeper subsurface and thus enables us to better understand processes of plate tectonics or mountain formation, for example. Measurement values from different measurement programs were used for the gravimetric overview map. For example, regional gravity measurements with a measuring point spacing of 1.5 km, local measuring networks with a point spacing of 250-500 m and special measurements with a measuring point spacing of 25-100 m were included in the processing. On the basis of these values, a network of 500 m grid point spacing was interpolated, which formed the basis for the present isoline map. Map of the BOUGUER Severe Disorder, 1994
