INTEMARES - Cap Breton Canyon - sampling with videophotographs obtained by towed vehicle 0623 IEO
Description
The information contained in this data set is the distribution of videophotographic transects, obtained by vehicle or towed sleigh, used in the study of characterization of typical fauna of rocky bottoms necessary for habitat modeling, carried out within the scope of the INTEMARES project (LIFE15 IPE ES 012) by the team working in the COST-SANTANDER (CSIC).
This is the representation of the spatial distribution of the video/photo towed vehicle sampling transects taken in Cap Breton's submarine cannon system, which is proposed as a new SCI.
La zona que comprende los datos proporcionados abarca el área de estudio cuyo limites longitudinales son aproximadamente 3º 0’ W y 2º 3’ W de longitud y los latitudinales son de 43º 30’N y 43º 50’ N, su lecho marino, las aguas del sistema de cañones que comprende el cañón Cap Bretón y sus cañones tributarios, las plataformas intertributarias caracterizadas por pockmarks, la plataforma continental y el talud superior.
This set of information was acquired during 2019 and 2020, thanks to the oceanographic campaigns INTEMARES-A22C-0619, INTEMARES-A22C-0620, both on board the B/O Ramón Margalef.
It is a data set composed of vector elements of linear type, where each element represents the beginning and end point of each sample.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
