Observations - Archaeological Elements (CAI)
Description
Observations are results of research or other observations with a certain relevance to heritage. A large number of sources are used for this: published data, historical sources, reports of archaeological finds, etc. Currently these are only archaeological observations, but in the future this can be expanded with architectural and landscape. The archaeological observations together form the Central Archaeological Inventory (CAI). Due to the vulnerability of some sites, most CAI fiches remain shielded from visitors without personal access. This is called private observation. However, part of the Observations was made available to all on 22 March 2021. These ‘public’ observations are mainly fact sheets on archaeological excavation investigations, and preliminary investigations carried out in the context of the Immovable Heritage Decree.
