LGRB-BW wine-growing atlas: Direct sunlight in the year
Description
Direct solar radiation. The part of the solar radiation that penetrates the Earth’s atmosphere unhindered and arrives on the ground surface. It has the highest value in cloudless sky. Together with diffuse solar radiation, it forms the global radiation. The map shows the sum of energy per square meter for the two ripening months of September and October. The direct solar radiation arriving on the ground surface is highest in our latitudes on south-facing locations at about 55 percent slope slope (approximately 30 degrees) over the year. If you only look at the two ripening months of September and October with the then already lower sun, the highest values on extreme steep slopes are reached with about 150 percent slope slope (about 55 degrees).
