Implementation of the Spanish Standard List of Terrestrial Habitats (LPEHT) in SIPNA
Description
The Spanish Pattern List of Terrestrial Habitats (LPEHT) has been generated to know which and how many habitats occur in Spain and to homogenize their nomenclatures and establish correspondences with the main classifications at European level, especially with the EUNIS classification (the European Nature Information System) and with that of the Habitats and Birds Directives that are required by the specifications of the INSPIRE Directive. This obliges all public bodies to carry out a reclassification of habitats with respect to EUNIS.
This task corresponds in Andalusia to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, through the Andalusian Environmental Information Network (REDIAM), which are responsible for the management of Habitats of Community Interest, for which it uses the existing information in the SIPNA (Andalusian Natural Heritage Information System), generated mainly with the VEGE10 (Cartography of the forest ecosystems of Andalusia) and SIOSE-A (Information System on Soil Occupation of Spain in Andalusia) projects.
The project includes the development of a gateway that allows the inclusion of information from SIPNA to the LPEHT for each of the 486 habitats present in Andalusia (of which 398 are Habitats of Community Interest).
