Particularly landscape-defining monument
Description
Landscape-shaping monuments are those building and ground monuments or ensembles whose visual and/or functional effect extends into a larger space to be described as a landscape. Thus, their environment is of great importance for their appearance, nature and effect. In addition, particularly landscape-defining monuments are characterized by a high historical significance and a special topographical location. They shape their surroundings to a high degree and have a wide field of vision as well as important consciously created and/or grown visual relationships. The classification as a particularly landscape-defining building or land monument is only relevant in connection with the construction of wind turbines, because a permit under monument law is required in their vicinity (Article 6(5) or the third and fourth sentences of Article 7(4) of the BayDSchG). The compilation of the particularly landscape-defining monuments is open for updating, so the current status must be consulted in each case for corresponding projects.
