Water structure and construction history in the catchment area of the Johnsbach
Description
The thesis is divided into four main sections, the first covering the physical geographical foundations on tectonics, stratigraphy, geomorphology and climate. In the second section, the construction history of the Johnsbach is revisited. In detail, the measures taken for the intermediate mower line and its side trenches are listed, an overview is given for the upper reaches and its catchment area. The development of the biotopes is shown in the third section for the intermediate mural section. On the basis of aerial photography, the dynamics of the individual biotope classes for the period from 1953 to 2003 can be very well represented. The final chapter presents the current water structure of the area under investigation.
This structure only makes it clear the serious interventions that have shown the construction measures at Johnsbach. The massive regulations and punctures of the streambed led to the loss of natural water bed dynamics. Large areas in the valley floor, which were previously constantly overlaid by the Johnsbach, were so calmed. The forest, mainly spruce through forestry measures, spreading out former pioneer and gravel areas. Over the period of 50 years, a massive change in the biotopes took place in the intermediate mower stretch of the Johnsbach.
