Photovoltaic Potential 2022 (roof/installation capacity) Vienna

Description

On the basis of the digital surface model, the solar radiation model and the aerial image, the suitability of the roofs for the use of photovoltaics was investigated. The slope of the roofs was also taken into account and different factors for flat and inclined roofs were assumed. The suitability of the roof surfaces was divided into three categories. Average = 600 to 900 kWh/m²*a, Good = 900 to 1 250 kWh/m²*a, Very good from 1 250 kWh/m²a. Non-usable roof elements were excluded by means of an aerial image analysis (see Photovoltaic Potential 2022 (roof/PV potential)). Furthermore, the theoretical performance of the plant was determined. 5.5 m²/kWp was assumed for the sloping roof and 6.5 m²/kWp in the flat roof and transferred to the surfaces with good and very good radiation. Then tee factors were applied that take into account unrecognised superstructures, paths, distances to the edge, etc. These factors were derived from numerous examples of real plant planning. The performance indicated here is therefore to be understood as an estimate and does not replace an on-site investigation.
