Description
The smallest delimited hydrological level of the EC Water Framework Directive (WFD) is the water body (WK). Lakes with a water surface area greater than 50 ha are considered as separate lake-water bodies for the WFD.The water body characterisation and assessment is integrated with results of the assessment of the overall ecological status/potential and the overall chemical status for the preparation of topic maps as an attribute.
