In 1999 and 2001, relevant geo- and nutrient chemical parameters as well as the concentration and nature of the suspended substances in the longitudinal course of the main stream were analysed as part of the conversion of the defence plant in the Lower Lobau. The aim was to describe the effect of backwater on these parameters and thus to be able to estimate the consequences of the structural measures. In addition, results of other investigations from the area were included in the report.
