WMS — Saxon Information System for Moores and Organic Wet Sites (SIMON)

Description

The Saxon Information System for Moores and Organic Wet Sites, SIMON for short, bundles the information available in various departments about Moore in Saxony. It enables user-friendly evaluation of the data for different requirements in nature conservation, soil protection, spatial planning or water management. The rough version was carried out with maps available throughout the country. The geological maps in the scales 1:25,000 and 1:50,000, the concept floor map Bkkonz, the selective biotope type mapping SBK (2. Passage) and the FFH-LRT crystallised out of the FFH first detection. The respective cards were filtered according to SIMON-relevant mapping units and the results were merged into moor complexes. Biotic and abiotic carting units were treated equally. The resulting moor complex map could then be stored with the data from the individual maps. On the basis of this map, the total area of the moor complexes in Saxony was determined with approximately 46.800 ha.
