Permanent Ground Observation Areas (ST-BIS-01)
Description
The digital map “Location of the soil-permanent observation areas (BDF) in the soil landscapes” shows the location of the soil permanent observation areas (BDF) established in Saxony-Anhalt. Shown is the kilometer square in which the respective BDF is located. The soil permanent observation program is used to observe changes in the physical, chemical and biological nature of soils. The state of Saxony-Anhalt owns 70 BDFs, which have been established according to the representation of landscape, soil, use and loads since 1990. The core area of the BDF is 30 x 30 m in size, integrated into the normal use of the surrounding area and is being re-examined at intervals of several years. Documentation of the results of the investigation can be found at the authorities involved in the country’s soil monitoring system.
