Natural hazard map

In municipalities where natural hazards pose a danger to the population and significant property, detailed hazard maps for avalanche, fall, slip and water hazards as well as collapse/decline (including sinkholes) are developed within the populated area. Depending on the intensity and return period of the hazard processes, red, blue, yellow and yellow-white hazard areas are eliminated (significant, medium, low risk and residual risk). For revisions from the 2010s onwards, intensity maps are increasingly available, which are available from the 2020s onwards in a process source-specific manner. The synoptic hazard map represents the waste of the process-specific hazard maps, whereby the highest hazard level is decisive in each case. Outside the populated areas, several basics are available that provide information about existing natural hazards. These are, on the one hand, purely computer-aided modelling of possible events (without verification in the field) on the basis of digital data, on the other hand, assessed individual buildings and actually observed events. The following data sets have been merged into the hazard statements: Hazard warning card of the canton of Bern (1997) Hazard warning card 'SilvaProtect' of the federal government (FOEN, 2006/2011) Water hazard warning card of the canton of Bern (2011) Individual buildings assessed as part of the hazard mapping Event register of the canton of Bern The hazard warnings do not provide information on the probability and intensity of possible events; the risk level is therefore not determined.
