FFH areas in the district of Wesermarsch
Description
The Fauna Flora Habitats Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992) aims to preserve Europe’s biodiversity and to ensure the survival of species and habitat types of Community interest in their natural distribution area.
Together with the EU Bird Protection Areas designated under the EU Birds Directive, the FFH sites form the European Natura 2000 protected area network.
In the district of Wesermarsch, the Lower Nature Conservation Authority in the Fachdienst 68 (Environment) is responsible for the designation and supervision of the FFH areas.
The data set “FFH Territories in the Wesermarsch County” is a vector dataset that indicates the FFH areas and bird sanctuaries in location and shape as polygons (areas).
The data are in the coordinate system ETRS_1989_UTM_Zone_32N (EPSG: 25832).
