3D Geological Model - State Model SH 2023
Description
The Geological Service SH is engaged in the exploration of the deeper subsoil. A nationwide geological 3D model was developed for state surveys and potential studies, which shows the depth and distribution of relevant formations of the North German Basin. The work was carried out as part of the project Potentials of the underground storage and economic area in the North German Basin - TUNB, which was carried out by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources in cooperation with the North German Geological Services. The model consists of 17 base surfaces of lithostratigraphic horizons between the base of the Zechstein and the railing surface, enveloping surfaces of salt slides and fault surfaces. The input data of the modelling are data of the Geotectonic Atlas of NW-Germany (Baldschuhn et al. 2001), drilling and seismic profiles of the CHP industry as well as drilling of the Landesarchiv SH.
