Level

Description

For the displayed levels, the current water level can be accessed via a link on the pages of the Aquatic Science Service. The Landesmessnetz Pegel currently comprises about 600 measuring points. It is divided into categories A and B according to the importance and function of water bodies and levels. A-levels (support levels) are the most important around 200 levels in Bavaria. Their task is to provide reliable and high-quality water levels and drains that are available to users quickly and safely. They are located at the points important for the waters, e.g. before and after junctions, and are pointer levels for their catchment area. In addition, the water levels at the 6 most important lakes are recorded. B-levels are the remaining 400 levels of the national measuring network, the data of which are required for aquatic science tasks. Of these, there are currently 23 levels at other lakes and reservoirs in Bavaria.
