Provinces; rates of motor vehicle tax
Description
This table shows the rates of the motor vehicle tax increases levied by the provinces. Holders of passenger cars and motorcycles pay an amount of provincial credits in addition to the motor vehicle tax. The tax credits on motor vehicle tax are collected by the Tax and Customs Administration, equal to the motor vehicle tax, and then transferred to the province. The data in the table come from the budgets adopted by the provinces prior to the reporting year.

Status of the figures:
The figures in this table are provisional at first publication. If changes occur, this is the result of the availability of new or updated data.
Amendments as of 15 December 2022:
Due to the rectification of a processing error, the figures for the surcharge rate of the motor vehicle tax of Limburg 2022 and 2023 have been revised.
Amendments as of 13 December 2022:
Provisional figures for the year 2023 have been added.
The figures for 2022 are now final.
When will there be new figures?
The new provisional figures shall be published no later than January in the financial year. The figures can be adjusted on the basis of the availability of new or updated source material. In general, the adjustments are small in scope. The changes will be made when a new year is added to the series.
