Assistible population: life expectancy
Description
Life expectancy at birth according to the 2013 provincial mortality tables is 80.8 years for men and 85.6 years for women. According to ISTAT estimates for 2015 there is a higher life expectancy in the Province of Bolzano than the national average (80.9 vs 80.1 for men and 85.6 vs 84.7 for women).
Life expectancy at birth has been steadily increasing in recent years. Over the past decade, 2.1 years of life expectancy at birth have been earned for men and one for women. Compared to 2014, 0.3 years were lost for men and 0.1 for women.
However, the difference in life expectancy between males and females is gradually decreasing over the years (from 8.1 years of the 1977-79 tables to 4.7 of the most recent tables).
