NP3b2020 Fishing intensity 2014
Description
The theme shows the fishing intensity with bottom contacting gear in squares of 100x100m from Danish vessels. The intensity tells how many times the seabed in each square has been affected by fishing gear in 2014. For values below 1, the intensity can be interpreted as the proportion of the square that has been affected during the period. The map is made using different types of position data (VMS, AIS, Black Box) with varying precision and recording efficiency. The intensity is calculated as the swept area ratio (SAR) by dividing the total net impact of the period in each square (footprint measured in m2) by the area of the square (10,000 m2).
