Description

The Statistical Office North (StA-Nord) as well as the State Office for Geoinformation and Surveying (LGV) have set up a common address database (known as the Gazetteer database). It is updated daily. Since it is a complex database, there are different interfaces for data download. They all provide a uniform, up-to-date, consistent and geo-referenced address database. The difference lies in the amount of information or the data schema. Do you need an uncomplicated list of addresses and street names? Then it is best to use the new OGC API - Features (OAF) interface (see More references). The attributes contained are congruent with the Hamburg road and area information. These include, for example, the names of statistical areas, land register codes, or parcel numbers. You can browse the data directly via the OAF web interface. In addition, there are two older web feature services. They are mainly used for internal purposes and for compatibility reasons. These can only be reused if the terms ‘DOG’ (‘Deutschland Online Gazetteer’) or ‘GAGES’ (‘Gazetteer Gesamt’) are known in the address context. In both cases, these are standardized but complex data models. The WFS “Zentraler AdressService Hamburg” uses attributes from the DOG specification. The WFS "Zentraler AdressService Hamburg – erweitert" contains the same DOG attributes as well as additional GAGES attributes, which have been supplemented in accordance with the requirements of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. This is also the basis of the OAF, in which you can find the most important attributes from GAGES.
