Description

The data includes traffic volume data for 2012-2023 and presents the daily average of traffic volumes. The traffic volume is described by the yearly average daily traffic (KVL) and its unit is a vehicle/day. Maps describing the whole country show the traffic volumes on main roads, main roads and regional roads. For the years 2012-2023, the data cover not only the traffic volumes of all vehicles, but also the traffic volumes of heavy goods vehicles, which have also been visualised as their own levels in the map service. In addition to the above, the map service shows on the map the traffic volumes of vehicle combinations from 2020 onwards and the traffic volumes of HCT combinations and motorcycles from 2022 onwards. In addition, as of 2022, the data attributes include: - average daily traffic in the summer - daily average daily traffic - Daily average daily traffic (heavy traffic) - Daily average daily traffic (combinations) - Daily average daily traffic (HCT combinations) - Top-Day Transport The previous year's traffic figures can be found at levels followed by "(updating)". This is because the Wizard's data may be corrected throughout the year, so the previous year's data cannot be frozen at the beginning of the year. Thus, for example, traffic volumes in 2022 will become their own frozen level towards the end of December 2023. Until then, the traffic volumes for 2022 will come from levels that are followed by the updated text mentioned earlier. The datasets for the following year are updated once a year so that the traffic volume data of part of the road network is updated annually. In other words, the data for 2021 also includes road sections whose traffic volume has not been calculated in 2021. The year of calculation of the traffic volumes of the road section can be seen from 2021 onwards from the attribute "Calculation year". Historical data on traffic volumes are not updated. The data are presented separately in the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency's Road Traffic Volumes map service. Until 2021, the source of the data was the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency's old road network information system, after which from 2022 onwards the data will come from Velho, who is the successor of the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency to the Road Register.
