Description
Laser scanning is one of the ways of capturing data in space, the result of which is a cloud of three-dimensional points. The term LiDAR is also used: Light Detecting and Ranging. The laser scanner emits light pulses and detects their reflections from objects in space. The position of objects in space is determined on the basis of the known position of the laser scanner, which registers the spatial directions and measures the path lengths of the reflected beams. The result of laser scanning is a cloud of points that have a certain position in the room. By processing this cloud, we get more useful data: georeferenced and classified point cloud (GKOT), various digital elevation models and the like. At the same time as laser scanning, it is also possible to capture aerial photos, with which we can also adapt color to each point in the cloud and make a (complete) orthophoto. Various products are available as part of Cyclical Laser Scanning Slovenia 2023-25:
- GKOT - georeferenced and classified point cloud
- DMR - digital relief model
- DMP - digital surface model
nDMP - normalized digital surface model
- POF - perfect orthophoto
- POFI - infrared perfect orthophoto
