Assistible population: distribution on the territory
Description
The resident population in 2015 was 521,831, with a density of 70.5 inhabitants per km2. 55.0% of the provincial territory has a low degree of urbanization[1], 21.1% is urbanized on average and 23.9% has a high degree of urbanization (2011 census). Just under half of the population lives in the health district of Bolzano (44.6%) about a quarter in that of Merano (25.9%), about a sixth respectively in the districts of Bressanone (14.4%) and Brunico (15.0%). Just under a third of the population is located in the two health districts of Bolzano city (20.5%) and Merano (10.8%).
