WMS LGRB-BW GKBW: Geological overview maps
Description
The geological maps provide an overview of the geological structure of the subsurface of Baden-Württemberg. The presentation service includes three layers with different content resolutions: The grossest resolution (M1000) refers to a scale range of 1: 1 million to 1: Here, 12 different, higher-level geological units as well as the main tectonic faults of supraregional significance are presented here. The second layer (M00) refers to a scale range of 1: 400,000 to 1: In this scale, 43 different, overarching geological units as well as the main tectonic faults of regional importance are presented. The third layer (M200) delivers the highest content resolution with a scale range of 1: 75,000 to 1: 400,000, in which a total of 93 different, higher-level geological units are represented. The data base of all three overview maps (M1000, M500 and M200) is the high-resolution geology data from GEOLA (Integrated geoscientific state survey of BW), which are subject to ongoing updating and are always the current state of knowledge of the geology of BW. With the help of a GIS tool developed at the LGRB for automatic generalisation (AutoGen), the overview map is derived once a year from the current GEOLA data.
