REDIAM. WMS HIC 5110 Stable xerothermophilic formations of Buxus sempervirens on rocky slopes (Berberidion p.p.)
Description
WMS service corresponding to Habitat of Non-Priority Community Interest 5110. It includes xerothermophilous and chalky scrub dominated by Buxus sempervirens at montane (under the tree line) and coline (low mountain) levels. In calcareous and siliceous substrates it is usually associated with grasslands of the Geranion sanguinei alliance. These formations, typical of the Euro-Siberian region, reach the Mediterranean region in a finicultural way, with the north of Andalusia being its southernmost limit. Because of this, the Andalusian formations are a little discordant, since many of the northernmost species are not present, while they are enriched with plants typical of more Mediterranean environments, characteristics of the forest shores, such as Berberis vulgaris subsp. australis, Cotoneaster granatensis, Crataegus laciniata, Lonicera arborea, Lonicera splendida, Ononis reuteri, Prunus ramburii, etc. Node of the Andalusian Environmental Information Network.
