Data from the *Adreßbuch of the city of Kiel and surrounding area 1934*, collected by volunteers with the data collection system (DES) of the Association of Computer Genealogy.

The following columns are included in the file:
— ‘Page’ — Name of the page on which the entry is located
— ‘LastName’ — Last name
— ‘firstname’ — First name(s)
— ‘professional or similar’ — profession of the registered person, as mentioned in the reference. A negative statement (e.g. “without a profession”) is also noted in this field. Information such as ‘pensioner’, ‘invalide’ or similar is also recorded in the professional field, as the person receives his or her income on the basis of this status.
— ‘address’ — address as entered in the address book
— ‘place name’ — name of the place of residence
— ‘local code’ — URI of the place of residence in [historical directory](https://gov.genealogy.net)
— ‘company name’ — name of the company, if it is a company entry
— ‘family status’ — marital status such as *Witwe*, *woman*, *Fräulein*
— ‘first name referee’ — e.g. name of the deceased husband in the case of a widow
— ‘professional caregiver’ — e.g. profession of the deceased husband in the case of a widow
— ‘owners’ — Partly it is noted in the address book that the person is the owner of the house. Then in this field there is the value ‘owner’
— ‘Administrator’ — Partly it is noted in the address book that the person is the manager of the house. Then in this field there is the value ‘manager’
— ‘does not live in the house’ — If it is apparent in the address book that the named person does not reside at the address (but is, for example, the owner of the business located here), a ‘yes’ is entered in this column.
— ‘functional bearer’ — If a ‘yes’ is entered in this field, the person holds an office (e.g. property manager) in that place, but does not necessarily reside there.
— ‘ID’ — unique identifier of the entry in DES. By presenting ‘https://des.genealogy.net/search/show/’ you get to the website of the entry.
