Ground map of Lower Saxony 1 : 50 000 - Local relocation potential (replacement frequency) 2031-2060 No climate change mitigation scenario (RCP8.5)

Description

The map shows the mean local relocation potential for non-sorbable substances (including exchange frequency of soil water per year) for the 30-year period 2031-2060 under the ‘no-climate protection’ scenario (RCP8.5). With the help of the exchange frequency (AH) of the soil water, the local displacement potential for non-absorbable or weakly absorbable substances can be described. The AH indicates how often the soil solution in the effective root zone is replaced in the course of leachate displacement. The lower the water storage and retention capacity of a soil, the greater its exchange frequency of the soil water. Statements on the concentration and loads of non-sorbable substances cannot be mapped with the method. In the case of nitrate, deposition, denitrification and mineralisation are not taken into account. Depending on the location, they can have a significant influence on the nitrate availability and concentration in leachate. The climate models are driven by the no-climate scenario (RCP8.5). This is a scenario of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), which describes a continuous increase in global greenhouse gas emissions, which causes an additional radiative forcing of 8.5 watts per m2 compared to pre-industrial levels by the end of the 21st century. The results of all climate models are equally likely. Therefore, in addition to the mean, which shows a trend, the upper (maximum) and lower (minimum) edge of the result bandwidth can also be retrieved via the MapTip.
