Good and unified arable land areas in Pirkanmaa in 2014
Description
The report on good and uniform arable areas in Pirkanmaa was carried out in 2014 as part of the preparation of the regional plan 2040. The arable areas defined in the report are based on examinations of the shape and size of the field. In addition, the drainage situation in arable areas and information on surface soil species were examined. Good and uniform arable areas were based on arable parcels of at least 10 hectares at a maximum distance of 300 metres from each other and a minimum of 100 hectares of arable land parcels. According to the study, there are 203 good and uniform arable areas in Pirkanmaa, accounting for 76 % of the region’s total arable land area.
The material is suitable for general land use planning tasks, for example. In order to resolve the detailed questions, it is necessary to use more detailed materials.
