Historical Forest Soil Database
Description
The database contains data on the description and analysis results of the forest soil profiles in Flanders described during the national soil mapping of Belgium (1947-1973). At that time, 669 of the 6797 profiles in Flanders were located under forest. Data on the profile description, the description and the analysis results of the different horizons and the vegetation description around the profile were included in the database. The data from the surface samples, also sampled during the soil mapping, are added to this. From this database, the locations can be visualized in a GIS.
