Communes of the European Metropolis of Lille
Description
Perimeters of the municipalities known as ‘water guardians’ included in the perimeter of the catchment supply area (AAC), covering some 40 municipalities, 26 of which are within the MEL.
This collective commitment to the well-being and health of metropolitans is reflected through several strong axes. The PLU2 approved by the MEL in December 2019 makes the choice to clearly display this priority issue of protection and preservation of water resources, in particular by:
- Limiting the artificialisation of the perimeter of the catchment supply area (ACA);
- Valuing natural and agricultural areas and excluding any new urban extension (with the exception of a few very specific needs of general interest);
- Recasting road service projects, construction methods, treatment of risky activities, etc. in order to minimise the impact on water resources;
