Alert card Stock Drinking and Groundwater
Description
This map shows where drinking water is extracted and which protection categories apply to surrounding areas. At the same time, on a coarse scale, it is visible where to what depth fresh groundwater is present. It is expected that the predicted climate change and future sea level rise will increase the salinisation of groundwater and reduce the availability of fresh groundwater and surface water. This has, for example, the risk that agricultural land and nature reserves will be irreparably damaged. The source holder of the card is Deltares (DANK008a).
