Residential accessibility by bicycle 2014
Description
Accessibility of residents of the Turku city region by bicycle via the pedestrian and bicycle network and road and network. Accessibility is calculated as an exponential distance function of the average distance travelled, weighted by population density. The analysis was carried out using the OpenStreetMap road network and the grid data from the Urban Structure Monitoring System (YKR) in 2011. Speeds for each type of road have been defined for the road network, and the population density has been retrieved from the grid data.
