Population study of the Aguilucho cenizo ("Circus pygargus") in Andalusia, 2004-2006
Description
Study of the population situation of the ash harrier ("Circus pygargus") in Andalusia for the period 2004-2006.
Among others, the coordinates of the nest, number of chickens flown, final state of the nest (harvested, plundered, hacking, spoiled, predated, transferred to CREA or incubator, flown) or the grids utm 1x1km affected are collected.
The measures envisaged in the project are: search for and location of areas of greatest potential for the species; location, monitoring and signalling of nests; exposure to farmers, owners and harvesters of the status of the species and the different ways in which they can collaborate; and monitoring of flown chickens and management plan for affected nests. Work within the scope of the Program of Actions for the Conservation of the Harrier.
