Drinking water protection areas (WMS Service)
Description
Representation of water protected areas which are currently legally established. The definition of water protected areas is carried out on the basis of § 51 WHG with the aim of protecting water from adverse effects, enriching groundwater or the harmful drainage of precipitation water as well as the flooding and entry of soil components, fertilisers or plant protection products into waters in the interests of the current or future public water supply. The Landratsamt Nordsachsen as the Lower Water Authority according to § 46 SächsWG is responsible for the determination of the water protected areas. The individual water protected areas are divided into protected zones I, II and III and III A and III B respectively.
