Costs and financing of environmental management, 1985-2013
Description
This table provides figures on the costs of measures to combat environmental pollution caused by the economic sectors within the Netherlands. Environmental costs are broken down by environmental compartments: water, air, soil, waste, noise and general. In addition to environmental costs, transfers are compiled and if they are added to the environmental costs and deducting the transfers received, the net environmental costs also appear in the table. In addition, data on environmental investments are available.
An overview of environmental investment and environmental costs was compiled annually between 1985 and 2001. From 2001 onwards, this overview will be published once every two years (in the odd years), including an overview of the net environmental burdens. From 2013 onwards (with less detail) will be published annually.

Changes as of 10 March 2020:
None, the table has been discontinued. It will be replaced by a new table of environmental protection expenditure based on the European mandatory EPEA (Environmental Protection Expenditure Accounts) statistics, see paragraph 3.
