Urban waste water treatment; by regional water quality manager
Description
This table contains figures on urban or public sewage treatment plants managed by water or treatment boards. The table gives, per regional water quality manager, the following results:
- the numbers and design capacity of urban wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), by treatment type.
- the loads of organic substances, nutrients (fertilisers) and heavy metals in the supplied waste water (influent) and the treated waste water (effluent). As of 2017, data on heavy metals will only be published for even years.
- the purification efficiency for organic substances and nutrients (fertilisers).
- the quantities and destination of the sewage sludge released, including the nutrients (fertilisers) and heavy metals contained therein. As of 2017, the data on sewage sludge will only be published for the even years.

The figures in this table are final.
Changes as of 22 April 2024:
Figures for 2022 have been added to the table.
When will there be new figures?
The new figures for 2023 will be published in March 2025.
