Agricultural census - numbers per municipality
Description
This dataset contains data at municipal level on land use, arable farming, horticulture, grassland, grazing livestock and granivores. For all subjects, both the counting data (area, number of animals) and the corresponding number of holdings are presented.
The data for this table are taken from the agricultural census. The agricultural census is part of the combined task, which is used, among other things, for the implementation of the agricultural policy and enforcement of the Fertilizers Act.
The regional breakdown of the agricultural census is based on the principal place of business address. This allows the region, to which the agricultural activities (keeping of animals, cultivation of crops) are attributed, to deviate from the place where these activities actually take place.
The reference date for the number of animals is 1 April; the reference date for the crops is 15 May.
