Dog zones

Description

The cantonal dog law (HuG 554.5) sets out rules and regulations for dealing with dogs. Access bans are regulated for different object types. The competent authority may have a provision for other objects. In the city of Zurich, this responsibility lies with the Security Department (SID). Various service departments can submit reasoned requests to the SID for certain provisions (leash obligation, dog ban, free-wheeling zone). The data set Dog Zones lists those objects that have been legally approved by the city council by means of an order. **Purpose**: The dog zones serve the population as information about what applies to dog husbandry in the city of Zurich. Enforcement is the responsibility of the Department of Security. There are basically three categories: - Linen obligation (all year, seasonal, seasonal differentiation) - Dog ban - Free-running zones All objects are provided with boards at important access points showing what applies in this object.
