Map of foundation soil classes
Description
In the event of an earthquake, the seismic waves are attenuated or accentuated depending on the geology of the soil and the subsoil. The map of the foundation soils divides the territory into units that, in case of seismic stresses, will have a similar behavior. For each foundation soil class, ranging from A to E, elastic acceleration response spectra defined in construction standard SIA 261 (2020) are associated. The foundation floor map is useful for engineers and architects to identify the response spectra to take into account when calculating structures.
