REDIAM. WMS HIC 2150-0 Atlantic heaths in dunes and softened littoral sands (*)
Description
WMS service corresponding to Habitat of Community Interest priority 2150-0. Habitat restricted to the Atlantic coasts of the southwestern peninsula, mainly along the evolved dunes of the Huelva coast. They are part of the tertiary dunes, more consolidated than those of the dune bands closest to the coast, and therefore, with a progressive evolution of the soil towards somewhat more mature states. Due to the rainy regimes that occur on the western Andalusian coast, in fixed dunes of flat topography, a washing of carbonates is generated, resulting in a more acidic soil than usual. In these circumstances, the vegetation of the tertiary dunes changes appearance, resulting in acidophilous heathlands, more adapted to these extremely poor soils. These heaths are constituted mainly Ulex australis, Erica scoparia, Calluna vulgaris and Erica umbellata, not being infrequent the jaguar Halimium halimifolium. The fauna is that of the scrub and heath, highlighting the group of passerines, among which the totovía (Lullula arborea), the common tarabilla (Saxicola torquata) or the rabilarga (Silvia undata) are frequent.
