Old deposits in Lower Saxony
Description
Old deposits are decommissioned waste disposal facilities and other land on which waste has been treated, stored or deposited.
According to §10 NBodSchG in Lower Saxony, the districts and non-district cities are responsible for contaminated sites as the lower soil protection authority. You maintain a contaminated site register in accordance with §6 NBodSchG with information on the situation, load and state of exploration. The LBEG has an advisory role on technical issues of these authorities.
The information on approximately 9500 old deposits has been provided to the LBEG by the competent soil protection authorities and is updated every 3 years.

Location number: 10-digit code
Name: Identification of the old deposit
Competent Soil Protection Authority: Lankreis/city
Area [m2]: Size of the site
Volume [m3]: Quantity of material stored
Current use: Current use at the site
Initial assessment: The score 0-100 is given if no exploration has yet taken place. For installations with a rating of >= 60 points, there is a priority need for exploration.
Processing status: Current state of play
Last update: Timeliness of data
Further and, if necessary, more up-to-date information can be obtained from the competent soil protection authority.
