WMS Heavy

Description

The service contains a Germany-wide uniform representation of various parameters (functional) or models of the gravity field. For general use, this currently includes the quasigeoid (GCG2016), open-air anomalies (heavy anomalies), severity and boguer anomalies. Depending on the layer, the representations can be used to illustrate and interpret the topographical and geological gravity field structures or to plan further gravity measurements. For planning purposes within the AdV, the middle bougueranomaly with base 4 km and its gradients are still included. Except for a few exceptions, a colormap representation is available for each parameter, as isolines (contour) and as slumber. The isoline spacings are scale-dependent and individually defined for each functional. The underlying spatial data sets were generated in UTM32 projection (EPSG:25832) with a resolution of 100 m, but can also be retrieved via the WMS interface in other common projections. Using the getFeatureInfo function, numerical values for individual positions can also be retrieved from the color-coded layers. The grids were derived by combining various official geodata (heavy measurements, DGM) from BKG, AdV and neighbouring countries as well as other non-official bodies (e.g. oil and gas industry, universities and research institutions, international scientific services). A list of the data sources as well as further information on the calculation are included in the documentation (https://sg.geodatenzentrum.de/web_public/gdz/dokumentation/deu/wms_schwere.pdf). The up-to-dateness of the data stock (2016) corresponds to that of the quasigeoid model GCG2016.
