Site Spaces for the Environmental Network (BOKU)
Description
The site spaces for the environmental network represent those settlement areas that have a high utilisation intensity, i.e. functional mixture, moderate density and compactness, as well as optimal conditions for public transport. The latter result from the public transport quality classes, which take into account the station category (stops for long-distance transport, regional train, express train, bus, etc.), the service quality of public transport (course intervals) and the distance to the stops. Settlement areas with a high intensity of use allow short distances and thus in everyday life to travel on foot or by bicycle. The modelling of the site spaces for the environmental network takes into account the following three parameters: (1) the intensities of use, (2) the attractiveness of public transport development (using the public transport quality classes) and (3) the topography.
