Report on the stocktaking for the state of Brandenburg 2005
Description
An assessment of the status of surface waters and groundwater requires an inventory in the respective river basin districts on the basis of existing water data. Anthropogenic impacts and interventions are identified, e.g. waste water discharges, contaminated sites, material inputs from the atmosphere and agriculture as well as water abstraction. In line with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD), only rivers with a catchment area of more than 10 square kilometres, lakes with an area of more than 0.5 square kilometres and all groundwater are subject to the inventory. The data for the territory of Brandenburg were published in the so-called C-report.
