Water quality organic - Ecotopen Rijkswateren - planes fourth cycle (RWS)

Description

From the Meuse, the Rhine branches-East, the Rhine-Maas estuary, the Volkerak-Zoommeer and the IJsselmeer area, an ecotope map is supplied every 6 years. Ecotope maps are an important part of Rijkswaterstaat's biological monitoring programme. An ecotope map is built up by combining several layers of information, such as a vegetation structure map, a water depth map, a flood duration map, etc. The vegetation structure map is the most important layer. The vegetation structure map is produced using aerial photographs on a scale of 1:10,000. An ecotope is defined as a spatially delimitable ecological unit, the composition and development of which are determined by abiotic, biotic and anthropogenic aspects taken together. The 1st cycle mappings were carried out in the period from 1997 to 1998 (year of photo flights). The 2nd cycle mappings were carried out in the period from 2004 to 2006 (year of photo flights). The 3rd cycle mappings were carried out in the period from 2008 to 2012 (year of photo flights). The 4th cycle mappings were carried out in the period from 2012 to 2018 (year of photo flights). MAAS: version 1.0. DRIVING TABLES EAST: version 1.0. RIJN-MASSMONDING: delivery expected 2nd quarter 2020.
